Bus Shelter Install Method Notes ================================ DHD20160121 First temporary install at Waterloo REV10 'stripboard' unit with GSM backhaul. SUCCESSFUL TEST OF INSTALLATION METHOD AND RADIO TRANSMISSION. Installation crew: Damon HD & Deniz E. Shelter 0122 1016, stop 54221 / 490000254QA. Before 3pm unit was powered up nearby and checked for transmission, which worked. All of expected initial 7 frames (frame #1 was not sent as is sometimes the case) were successfully received by the ord server, though no further frames were seen. It was decided that the 'fluffy' (eyes) side should be used on the shelter surface and the hooks side on our installed units for considency and interchangeability, eg if a unit is replaced during maintenance. Observations during install: * Appropriate security bolt driver in Deniz' kit: we will buy a duplicate. *** Eaves panel is not hinged or chained, ie can drop out once unbolted. * Sensor was placed on metal panel of eaves void, not fastened with hook-and-eye, due to insufficient steps height. * Still need to test hook-and-eye fixing method. * Radio transmission was successful (apparently 100%) from within eaves void. * First frames received once installed, as logged at the server: 2016-01-21 15:28:08.415496: ip:213.205.251.84, port:6583, msg:{"@":"8aad","+":2,"O":2,"T|C16":304,"vac|h":0} 2016-01-21 15:30:08.855109: ip:213.205.251.84, port:6583, msg:{"@":"8aad","+":3,"B|cV":266,"L":255,"av":1} 2016-01-21 15:32:08.943870: ip:213.205.251.84, port:6583, msg:{"@":"8aad","+":4,"av":0,"T|C16":278,"O":2,"vac|h":0} * We may add radio RSSI support for all OTRadioLink devices, and include in outgoing stats. In particular for GSM radios we get an idea of potential issues locating and reaching a base station. * Not sure how to deal with non-eaves panel glamour caps (unable to remove easily). * Will bring thin screwdriver to attempt to remove glamour caps. * A single step is not high enough; will try with 2-step ladder. * Need barrier cream as shelter components can be grubby! * Need different security tool with longer shaft for non-eaves panels. * Need to locate suitable tool for seat void access. * Cleaning agent was not tried (sensor unit was placed not stuck). Actions from above: *** Eaves panel is not hinged or chained, extra care need. * Appropriate security bolt driver in Deniz' kit: we will buy a duplicate. * Will bring thin screwdriver to attempt to remove glamour caps. * A single step is not high enough; will try with 2-step ladder. * We may add radio RSSI support for all OTRadioLink devices. * Need barrier cream as shelter components can be grubby! * Need to locate suitable tool for seat void access. * Still need to test hook-and-eye fixing method.
